About the Conference :
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee in 2020. Being the pioneer engineering discipline of VNIT Nagpur, Department of Mechanical Engineering is organizing two days international conference to embark the start of Diamond Jubilee Celebration. The event is planned to be inaugurated at the hands of Honorable Prime Minister of India. The theme of the conference is Advances in Mechanical Engineering. The keynote talks, technical sessions, and panel discussions are oriented towards holistic contributions of Mechanical Engineering towards the society, industry and mankind. The conference aims to create a forum to present and exchange new ideas by researchers and developers from India and abroad working in the frontier domains of Mechanical Engineering. VNIT Nagpur is hosting ICAME-2020 during January 10-11, 2020. Researchers from Academia, R&D Labs and Industry from India and abroad are invited to submit original research manuscripts for ICAME-2020 and be the part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of VNIT Nagpur. Attractive prizes will be given to top 3 papers.
About VNIT :
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India is an Institute of National Importance, located in the heart of the Nagpur city. It was established in the year 1960, earlier known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), named after the eminent engineer, planner, and statesmen of the country Sir M. Visvesvaraya. It was converted to NIT under the act 29 of 2007. Since its establishment, the institute is imparting quality education and is a pioneer institute in central India. The 215 acres campus includes state of the art laboratories, well equipped classrooms, sport complex, hostel facility to accommodate more than 5000 students, faculty quarters, library and information centre, network centre, Center of Excellence and a dedicated health centre. CIVN, the incubation cell of VNIT has incubated 6 companies. Recently, an academic block with G+6 floors for faculty members and PhD scholars, nine virtual classrooms, Girl’s and Boy’s hostel with 1000 capacity each with food court and other amenities and a class room complex with G+6 floors having 24 classrooms are added to the campus infrastructure. VNIT Nagpur runs 9 UG Programs, 23 PG Programs and PhD programs. It has faculty strength of 260. The institute is having 93 ongoing R&D projects worth 60 Cr. Institute is ranked 31st in NIRF. The green campus of institute is full of natural flora and fauna. The 1MW solar power plant, 600 KLD STP and many such initiatives are taken for sustainability. The legacy of 6 decades is being continued.
About Mechanical Engineering:
Department of Mechanical Engineering is the oldest department started from the inception of the institute (1960). Over the last Six decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research. The Department has one UG program (B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering), three PG programs (MTech in Industrial Engineering, CAD/CAM and Heat Power Engineering). The department also offers the PhD program. The department is devoted to quality teaching, outstanding research and development activities with its highly qualified 30 faculty members. Department has shown significant contribution in research in the domains like bio-medical engineering, CFD, robotics, solar energy, advanced machining. The department handles research projects funded by various agencies having total outlay of 10 Cr. Department has filed 31 patents and 4 are granted. Three technologies have been successfully transferred to industries. The department organizes training programs/workshops at regular intervals. In the recent past, department has hosted IPRoMM-2016, one of the reputed conferences in India. The vision of the department is to produce a quality human resource of a high standard in mechanical engineering who can contribute favorably to the technological and socioeconomic development of the nation.
